Jeffrey Datz, Esquire
Jeffrey B. Datz founded Datz & Associates, LLC in 2013. He combines an active litigation practice with a transactional and counseling practice to assist corporate and individual clients with a broad range of legal issues. Mr. Datz has extensive experience litigating disputes in state and federal tribunals throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the State of New Jersey. He currently advises a wide variety of local businesses, focusing his practice in the areas of business collections, contractual disputes and general commercial litigation. Jeffrey handles all phases of the negotiation and litigation of domestic relations cases, including divorce, custody, support, alimony, property distribution, prenuptial agreements and related issues. Jeffrey is particularly adept in a wide variety of substantive areas of law, including drafting and negotiating contracts, enforcing judgments, real estate transactions including title disputes and lien foreclosures as well as handling personal injury matters.
Jeffrey has a wide array of legal experience spanning his fifteen years as an attorney. His peers have bestowed the honor of recognizing him as a Pennsylvania Rising Star on multiple occasions. He began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he prosecuted thousands of criminal defendants for crimes ranging from simple misdemeanors to serious felonies, including firearm crimes, burglary, robbery and drug trafficking. In 2003, he began working for plaintiffs as a trial attorney, garnering significant results for his catastrophically injured clients. He has earned a reputation for skilled and passionate representation of clients, as well as veracity and tenacity in the courtroom. Jeffrey has extensive experience representing small businesses and corporations. He is frequently asked to provide guidance and support to manage corporate formation, planning, governance and general transactional advice. For the past six years, Jeffrey has served as a Team Leader for the Investigative Division of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Commission on Judicial Selection and Retention. The Commission evaluates judicial candidates to help voters make decisions about candidates for judicial office.
Jeffrey is a lifelong resident of the Philadelphia area. He graduated from the University of Michigan, majoring in Political Science (B.A. 1997), and then attended Temple University Beasley School of Law (J.D. 2000). Jeffrey currently resides with his wife and family in the greater Philadelphia area.
